This Australian made range is a diverse collection of Flexibraid®, Raffia, Buri Straw, Raffia Braid and Felt.

 

Just as UV rays are a danger to your skin, the same UV rays are a major contributor to coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef. The ooGee Art Series range contributes to Taronga’s coral restoration program part of which is working on reversing the effects of the UV coral bleaching.

 

Tim’s glorious artwork, featured throughout the range, reflects the beauty of the reef which is the beauty we are all trying to protect, preserve, recover and regenerate. 

Desert Reef - Shedding skin

This diptych artwork is inspired by the lifecycle of our Australian outback in the Flinders Ranges, which once was an inland ocean and coral reef.

Tim felt a connection to the life and death cycle of our land and this artwork came forth somewhere deep in Tim's consciousness. The work mirrors Tim's own life in cycles and seasons of growth through life and death. As he created, Tim saw depth of layers, vibrant pinks mimicking coral that once lived there, to deep mighnight blues and captivating turquoise. This work was a finalist of the National Macquarie Art Prize.

After painting this work, Tim discovered the greater significance of the Desert Reed that is 650-million years old and ten times the height of the Great Barrier Reef. This work truly reflects TJ's abstract painting ability to capture the subject matter through colour, texture and energy.

Wistari Reef

The beautiful Wistari Reef painting is inspired by a photograph Valerie Taylor AM took from a helicopter flying over the Great Barrier Reef in the 70’s.

This photo was taken during Valerie and her husband Ron's six-month dive trip in which they filmed a documentary capturing their journey as the first divers to cover the entire reef.

Wistari is across the channel from Heron Island, both are in the Capricorn Bunker group on the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.

Tim painted this artwork as a surprise for Valerie Taylor AM as part of his ‘Empowering Ocean’ exhibition in 2020, in which Valerie was invited as guest Speaker to share about the need for High Marine Protection Zones.

The Wistari Reef Artwork was later displayed on the iconic Sails of the Sydney Opera House for World Ocean Day 2021.

The beauty of this artwork is the multiple layers of depth that can be seen within the piece and visible texture of each coral island.

Ningaloo Reef

Timothy’s aerial painting of the coral coast of Western Australia, Ningaloo Reef is prized for its pink sand and red earth contrasting the jade and turquoise glassy waters of the coastline.

Ningaloo Reef is a beautiful interpretive work, unique to Tim’s style of textured layers that give a sense of photographic realism to what is quite abstractly painted.

This piece brings an immediate sense of calm, the tones that are expressed in the work directly reflect the world-renown coastline.

Tim has always been enthralled by Western Australia’s captivating coastline and wanted to express his own interpretation of it.

Balmoral

Edwards Beach, Balmoral is one of the nineteen beautiful bays in Mosman’s Sydney Harbour.

Tim loved painting it in 2020 as his first work for the ‘Empowering Ocean’ Exhibition.
